Fine jewelry and adornments designed and made,
responsibly, by Veronica Valois.
Hi. I’m Veronica, the designer and maker behind TRES ADAS, a fine jewelry studio located in the Hudson Valley in upstate New York. TRES ADAS is named for my mother: Ada Pilar; my abuela: Ada Carmen; and my tía: Ada Caridad. The three Adas.
My introduction to jewelry began with my mother. Fine jewelry, antique jewelry, costume jewelry, she had it all and she wore it well. It was the pieces she seemed to have a personal relationship with that I gravitated to most. The ones she favorited. The ones with history. Her San Lazaro charm. My grandmother’s garnet ring she wore everyday. A blue topaz ring she said came from an ex-boyfriend (shhhh…). Somehow, over time, these pieces became inextricable from her. Like magic.
I am endlessly fascinated by the versatility of jewelry. Jewelry can shout. It can whisper. It houses memories. It protects us. I wish to design and make jewelry you can have a relationship with. It is my sincerest wish that you will talk to your jewelry; ask it for advice; negotiate with it. Tell it your secrets.
There is no end to the role jewelry can play in our lives and in the ways in which we express ourselves. Whatever jewelry means to you, I hope you will find something within the TRES ADAS collection that speaks to you. Something you want to go through life with; to bestow a bit of yourself into. Something to pass down.
My studio is inspired by Ada Carmen’s tailoring business in Cuba during the 1940s and 50s. I never met my abuela, but I’m told I take after her in spirit and character.
TRES ADAS is dedicated to the memory of Ada Pilar, who is, has always been, and will always be my muse. Te quiero mucho, mami.
3% of all net proceeds will be gifted to the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and the World Central Kitchen.
*A note on responsibility…
The TRES ADAS collection is being made as responsibly as I can make it. Wherever appropriate, I will indicate when a metal is recycled or Fairmined. It is my goal to eventually work exclusively in recycled and Fairmined metals. To the best of my knowledge, I only purchase fair trade and responsibly sourced stones. It is extremely important to me that I not exploit the planet nor any person in the process of making my jewelry. I cannot promise that I will succeed 100% of the time, but that is always, always the goal.
